SENIOR VISUAL ARTS TEACHER - Gr 10 – 12 (Locum position)

Locum Senior Visual Arts Teacher
Grades 10 – 12

The position will commence 1 January 2022

This is a locum position for Term 1 and possibly for the first few weeks of the second term until the end of April at Stanford Lake College. The successful candidate will report to the Head of Academics.

We seek to employ a person who: 

  • has an appropriate university degree; 
  • has taught Visual Arts to Matric level OR who has a strong practical artistic background;
  • will embrace an innovative and progressive approach to teaching Visual Arts from Grades 10 – 12; 
  • is prepared to work closely with our incumbent Visual Arts teacher, who will be on maternity leave, in designing the term’s work for each Grade;

Key Competencies – the successful applicant is likely to possess the following key competencies: 

  • be an enthusiastic teacher who will be able to share his/her love for Visual Arts with his or her students; 
  • deliver engaging and effective lessons which enthuse his or her students a self-starter who can manage themselves and work independently;
  • have good IT skills and be comfortable using technology in the class- room, where appropriate 
  • a strongly driven work ethic;
  • excellent interpersonal skills with colleagues, students and parents; 
  • good organisational and administrative skills; 
  • an open and creative outlook to education;
