We are seeking a skilled laboratory technician to join our growing team. In this position, you will set up samples and experiments to enhance the transfer of education to pupils at the school. Experience in data collection and interpretation as well as a keen attention to details and a strong work ethic is a must.

The successful applicant will be a suitably qualified laboratory technician with the following requirements:

  • Some years of experience in a laboratory environment
  • Maths and computer skills
  • Knowledge of laboratory techniques, understanding of proper chemical handling, use, storage and disposal

The following skills are essential:

  • Test and set up lab equipment
  • Use lab machinery/equipment and computer programs to conduct tests and set up experiments

  • Order, receive, and inventory new glassware as needed

SOCIAL WORKER

The SGB of The Grove Primary School wishes to appoint a Social Worker. The Social Worker will work with children, parents and teachers when social, emotional, behavioural or clinical difficulties compromise a child's academic potential.

The successful applicant should meet the following requirements:

  • Honours Degree in Social Work. A Master’s Degree in Clinical Social Work will be an advantage. 
  • More than five year’s experience in Social Work focusing on supporting children. 
  • The ability to communicate confidently and competently in English, both spoken and written. Competency in isiXhosa and/or Afrikaans is advantageous as the incumbent would need to liaise with many external non-governmental organizations and governmental departments to best support the children at The Grove. 
  • Valid registration with the South African Council for Social Service Professions (SACSSP).
